Five Prince Avenue Performing Arts students used part of their summer vacations to participate in the 2018 Estonia Fine Arts Mission Trip. Sophomore Emma Allen, juniors Emilie David, Charlie Graffin, and Riley Wilson, and graduate Sara Thompson traveled with drama teacher Hannah Hunt, her husband Noel, and fine arts director LaMurl Morris to Camp Gideon, a Christian camp in Estonia.

Students taught English classes and lead worship activities for the campers.

“Our students learned about eastern European culture, gained an understanding of being a Christian in countries where there are very few Christians, and even picked up a little Russian and Estonian vocabulary,” said Morris.

The PACS Fine Arts Department has an established relationship with Camp Gideon. The students that went on this trip described it as life-changing.

“My experience in Estonia was one of the best I have ever had. There are so many things you can learn from there, and the kids and the camp were absolutely amazing. I loved spending time with them because I felt joy inside of me when I was with them,” said Allen.

Plans are already underway for next year’s trip to Camp Gideon.
