Aussie DJ raising $10,000 for victims of bullying after nude video leaked

An Australian DJ known for her vibrant blue hair has has set up a fundraising page for victims of bullying after a nude video of her from Snapchat was leaked.

Dara Hayes, known by her stage name as Tigerlily, said an edited version of a two-second video of her wearing a white bathrobe was leaked just moments after she flashed at the camera.

The video was posted by photographer friend Lady Drewniak after it was taken inside a Munich hotel room.

The DJ claims two followers managed to download, edit and released an uncensored version of the footage which circulated around the internet.

“I’d just taken a shower and I put on the white hotel robe. She filmed a Snapchat video on her phone. We were having a bit of a laugh and being silly and I flashed her,” Hayes told News Corp.

“She edited the video before she uploaded it. She made it black and white and then sped it up, so the Snapchat was only about two seconds in length, because it was going so fast.

“She covered my private parts with emojis and squiggles. You couldn’t see anything. She showed it to me, I had a laugh about it and I said it was fine for her to post it. I didn’t think twice about it,” she said.

According to reports, the edited version of the video is slowed down and the emoji graphics have been removed to reveal Hayes' naked body.

DJ Tigerlily vented her anger and frustration over the incident to her 490,000 Facebook fans and referenced the Jennifer Lawrence hacking scandal and calling the act a sex crime.

"It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It's disgusting," she wrote.

"How would you feel if this was happening to your best friend, your sister, or your girlfriend? It wouldn't be such a laugh then I'm sure?"

"I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and in the past 24 hours I’ve seen just how vulgar and childish some people can be."

Within a few hours of writing the post, she announced that she has set up a fundraising account for Headspace for victims of bullying and is trying to raise $10,000 in the next two weeks.

She donated the first $5,000 herself.

After the announcement the Aussie DJ spoke to Pedestrian TV saying she wanted to created "create a positive from all this negative".

"I went for a long run yesterday afternoon trying to think about the situation and I came to the realisation that I really wanted to create a positive from all this negative that’s going on at the moment,' she said.

"I thought that donating to a charity like Headspace would be really ideal and practical, because online bullying and victim-blaming… it happens so often to so many young people."

"A lot of them don’t have the support with them, or the ability or the confidence to speak out about this stuff".

When the video was first leaked, she hit out at the distributors on her official Facebook page.

"The content that has been ripped from Snapchat, edited and distributed is being done so against my will," Hayes wrote.

"I’ve spoken out many times against misogyny, sexism and online bullying, and in the past 24 hours I’ve seen just how vulgar and childish some people can be... Although the crime that has been committed is NOT OK, being proud of your body and who you are IS OK (sic)."

“I have absolutely no idea who posted it. It’s obviously someone who follows my tour manager on Snapchat,” she said.
