A Dothan man was arrested Thursday for allegedly abusing a 2-year-old toddler.
Kewan Deshawn-Obrien Walker, 22, of Trillium Circle, is charged with aggravated child abuse. Bail has been set at $100,000.
“Our department received a call from Flowers Hospital on April 14 regarding a potential child abuse victim,” said Dothan Police Lt. Lynn Watkins. “Once investigators arrived at the hospital, we learned the victim was a two-year-old child who suffered burns to his foot and hand. The child also had bruising on his face, abdomen, and buttocks.”
After the child received treatment at Flowers Hospital, he was transported to Children’s of Alabama Burn Unit for further treatment of second-degree burns.
“We have received information stating the injuries the child received are consistent with child abuse,” Watkins said. “The last report we received on the child stated he was in stable condition at this time.”
