ARLINGTON, VA -- WMATA's Board of Directors has approved some region-wide changes to Metrobus routes, and among them is the elimination of one major route that runs through Arlington.

Specifically, WMATA will do away with the 22B route, which connects the Ballston Metro station to the intersection of S. Four Mile Run Drive and Columbia Pike, according to a WMATA report.

Instead, those buses will be used to increase bus availability in the Shirlington and Pentagon City neighborhoods.

Riders who used the 22B route can use 22A and 22C instead, officials say.

WMATA will also truncate 10E, the bus that runs from the Rosslyn Metro station to Hunting Point in Alexandria. That route will now connect Hunting Point to the Pentagon instead.
