A man who was seen on surveillance cameras stealing a vehicle has been caught by Elberta Police after they say he returned to the crime scene.

Elberta Police say John Coker of Escambia County, Florida stole a black Pontiac Grand Prix from a store on Highway 98 in Elberta.  Surveillance video shows Coker getting into the vehicle that was left running, and driving away.

Elberta Police were called to the scene when, two hours later, investigators say Coker returned to the gas station on a stolen motorcycle.  Officers at the scene approached Coker as he attempted to retrieve his original vehicle, a white pick-up truck, but he’s apprehended after a chase on foot.

The foot chase is seen on video released to News 5’s Debbie Williams.
