The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to induct more persons from the erstwhile Warangal district as the people there always stood by him and gave thumping victory to the party.
The TRS also won the Parliament byelection in 2015 with a huge majority and Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao himself thanked the people for their support to the TRS during and after the separate Telangana movement.
The names of likely ministers doing the rounds include Warangal West MLA D. Vinay Bhaskar, who won for the fourth consecutive time. His supporters say he was supposed to get the minister post last time too, but missed owing to caste equations and other dynamics. Seniormost among the elected legislators in the new Assembly after KCR are D.S. Redya Naik who is elected from Dornakal constituency for the sixth time and Errabelli Dayakar Rao who is elected from Palakurhty constituency. He is also six-time MLA after the present victory.
Mr. Redya Naik’s name is likely to be considered for the post of Speaker as he is being appointed pro-tem speaker now. Mr. Dayakar Rao, who has been dreaming to be a minister all his lifetime is likely to get a berth in the new Cabinet.
Among the SC MLAs, Mr. Aruri Ramesh, who won with a huge majority of nearly one lakh votes from Wardhannapet, may also get a chance if the party considers him under SC quota.
Mr. P. Sudarshan Reddy who is elected from Narasampet happens to be very close to KCR since the movement days. He would have been in the Cabinet last time had he won the seat, but unfortunately he lost to Congress candidate D Madhava Reddy. This time he has been elected with a good majority and his rapport with KCR may help him secure berth. In all probability, more TRS leaders from Warangal district may get the chance this time in view of the unprecedented public support the party got once again.
