Two women had a lucky escape from a house fire in Wimbledon Chase last night (November 9).
The women were said to be uninjured after making their escape from the blaze in Merton Hall Road before the arrival of the fire crews.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to the blaze where half of the loft space and roof was damaged by the fire.
The brigade was called at 7.50pm and the fire was under control at 10.47pm with the two women managing to leave the property before the arrival of the Brigade. There were no reports of any injuries.
Fire crews from Wimbledon, New Malden, Mitcham and Tooting fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of fire is under investigation
