Silver Eagle Beverages helps over 20 San Antonio students with tuition

Silver Eagle Beverages has awarded scholarships to 27 San Antonio area students for 2020-2021.

The Texas-based distributor gave out a total of 33 scholarships to Texas students as part of its Silver Eagle Beverages Scholarship program, according to a news release. The company distributes beers from Anheuser-Busch as well as for some local breweries.

The program awards up to a total of $4,500 per academic year to the students of Silver Eagle Beverages employees and was started by the company over 20 years ago. The company has awarded more than $1,075,000 in scholarships since then.

The Silver Eagle Beverages Scholarship provides up to five years of funding for an undergraduate degree and up to two years of funding for a graduate degree, 2-year degree or technical school. The Greater Houston Community Foundation administers the scholarship program.

The students are typically honored at an award ceremony at the Silver Eagle Beverages office, but the distributor hosted a virtual event this year to ensure everyone’s health and safety. .

“Silver Eagle Beverages is proud to provide the children of our employees with this scholarship opportunity,” said Chairman and CEO John L. Nau III in the news release. “We congratulate these 33 students for their hard work and perseverance and wish them well as they start the school year during this unique and challenging time.”

Six other students from Houston, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Carrizo Springs and Uvalde.
