"Body by Jake" Steinfeld helps cut the ribbon at Jardine's new $100k gym

The Kansas Governor joined a fitness legend to open a new, $100,000 fitness center at a local middles school Wednesday morning.

Gov. Jeff Colyer and Jake Steinfeld, known for his 'Body By Jake' brand, cut the ribbon on Jardine Middle School's new 'Don't Quit' gym. The school was one of three selected by the National Foundation for Governor's Fitness Council, as part of the organization's 'Don't Quit!' campaign.

Steinfeld says the gym sends a simple message - fitness and education go hand-in-hand.

"When you're healthy you can achieve anything you want in your life and this is not just about building bodies but building confidence and self esteem. As I said to the kids, and even the grown ups, if you have confidence and self esteem, and you feel good about yourself, you can really achieve anything you want in your life."

Lincoln Elementary in Fredonia and Uniontown USD 235 were the other two schools selected for new gyms.
