Your cat leads a hectic life, possibly spending as many as six hours per day awake. So this designer's electric skateboard might well be the perfect solution for your overexerted cat.
Built from simple, off-the-shelf components by designer Kim Pimmel , the skateboard offers his moggie a way to zip around the house without any pesky running or walking.
To entice Pimmel's cat, called MIDI, onto the board he places a treat into a little tube. The tube is mounted to the throttle so when she pulls it to release her snack the skateboard starts moving.
The cat seems fine with it.
The entire project is made with low-cost parts available online which Pimmel has put together to make this small electric skateboard.
A motor, which costs around £16 on Amazon offers the forward propulsion, and it's powered by a simple lithium-ion battery.
A pair of tiny computer boards control the motor and turn the kitty's interactions with the throttle into gentle forward motion.
The only complaint Pimmel seems to have had from MIDI the cat is about how the skateboard grips on kitty litter. Still, it's something for him to work on in revision two.
This isn't the first time Pimmel has lavished his cat with elaborate electronic projects. He's previously built her a treat-dispensing pinball machine too, which she also appears to love.
Pimmel is currently an augmented reality designer for Adobe. And according to his Twitter profile he used to be a designer on Microsoft's Hololens project.
