  • Donnie Wahlberg confirmed the renewal
  • The cast memebrs had a virtual dinner recently

“Blue Bloods” Season 11 renewal is yet to be official confirmed, but one of the cast members spilled the beans recently. Donnie Wahlberg, who plays the role of Danny Reagan on the show, told the fans online that the show will be returning with another set of exciting stories about the cop family and their work.

After the recent airing of the Season 10 finale episode, Wahlberg decided to answer a few fan questions online. One of the fans wanted to know if the show has been renewed, and the actor simply replied with a “yes.” The confirmation led to a lot of excitement among the fans who were concerned about the long running show coming to an end.

Filming of the next season can’t begin right away because of the lockdown, and the producers also have to officially confirm the return of the TV series. In the mean time, the cast members are keeping themselves busy and engaging with the fans on social media.

Wahlberg recently hosted a virtual family dinner with the cast members of “Blue Bloods” on Zoom, ET Canada reported. Noting that the lockdown necessitated a virtual meeting instead of an in-person party, Wahlberg hoped that this would be the first and the last such event for the cast members of the show.

Executive producer Kevin Wade joined the virtual dinner from his home. Among the actors who took part in the virtual dinner were Tom Selleck, Vanessa Ray, Bridget Moynihan, Len Cariou, Anthony Terraciano, Sami Gayle, and Will Estes.

Wahlberg hinted at the show being renewed during the virtual hangout when he asked Wade if Season 11 will explore the coronavirus pandemic. The producer confirmed that the writers can’t “run far away from it” and have to address the impact of the virus.

The only challenge the producers and writers are facing is making sure that the whole plot of the next season doesn’t become about the coronavirus. Wade pointed out that the TV series is not a “documentary of life.”

While the fans wait for the announcement of “Blue Bloods” Season 11 renewal, all the previous episodes of the show are currently available to stream online.
