Police: Man exposes self, commits 'lewd acts in public'

Bonnie

A man accused of exposing himself was detained by an off-duty officer near Turtle Bay School Thursday morning, Redding police say.

Redding police went to the 500 block of N. Market Street at about 8 a.m. after receiving six calls about a man, later identified as Daniel Fauston Bonnie, 27, "exposing himself and committing lewd acts in public," said police Sgt. Les James.

An off-duty California Highway Patrol officer, Phillip Moyer, saw Bonnie's obscene acts and detained him until police arrived, James said.

James said officers learned Bonnie was on parole for robbery, according to California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation records.

Bonnie was caught near Turtle Bay School, but could not be seen from the campus itself, James said.

Officers arrested him on suspicion of indecent exposure and for violating the terms and conditions of his parole, James said.
