Jersey City man charged with distributing child porn videos

JERSEY CITY -- A Jersey City man has been charged with uploading videos of child sexual abuse -- including one of a girl who appeared to be 7 -- to a child pornography website, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Authorities say Nader Ahmed, 29, uploaded two videos on Jan. 12 and another on Jan. 13. Two videos depict girls, one about 14 years old and the other about 16, naked and touching themselves, officials said.

The third video depicts a girl of about 7 years old involved in sex acts with a man. Computer equipment seized at Ahmed's home Tuesday revealed hundreds of files with titles indicating they were child pornography, officials said.

Law enforcement took down the website on March 5 and arrested the owner. Records showed that the videos allegedly uploaded by Ahmed had subsequently been downloaded by website users, officials said.

Ahmed told investigators that he has been downloading child porn for a decade, the complaint says.

The charge of distribution of child pornography carries a possible sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, officials said.

Ahmed appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor Tuesday and was ordered held without bail as he awaits trial, officials said.
