Richards Has Been Named All-Tournament at Three Straight Events

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Mimi Richards finished with 10 kills on .588 hitting and added four block assists and two aces, but the Bison came up short in a 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 21-25, 25-16) loss to Brown on Saturday in the team's final match in the Hartford Invitational. The Bison went 2-1 at the event and exit at 5-4 on the season.

Richards was named to the All-Tournament Team for the third straight week, adding to her honors won at the Bucknell Invitational and the St. Francis Brooklyn Terrier Classic. In matches against Niagara, Hartford, and Brown, the Bucknell junior tallied 23 kills on .426 hitting and had nine total blocks. Richards has six All-Tournament selections during her career.

The 10 kills by Richards against Brown came on 17 attacks and no errors. She ranks first in the Patriot League in blocks/set (1.45) and fifth in hitting percentage (.370).

Senior Blake Buchholz tallied a team-high 11 kills for Bucknell. Juniors Bridgette Holland and Sophie Bullard added eight apiece. Bullard also had a team-high 15 digs, while sophomore Alexa Bonanno led the Bison with 30 assists.

The Bison finished with 10 total blocks. Holland paced the effort with one solo and five block assists. Freshman Jennie Burke contributed four block assists.

Sabrina Stillwell led Brown to the win, totaling 22 kills with a .340 hitting percentage and 14 digs. Gabrielle Moriconi and Eliza Grover had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

Bucknell closes its non-conference schedule with three matches at the Zips Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Bison will play the host school Akron, Youngstown State, and Iona.
