Police said the first robbery occurred Aug. 20 at a Food Mart located in the 1400 block of Somerset Road, which is not far from South Park Mall.

A man working as a cashier told police Gonzalez walked behind the store's counter holding a sharp object while demanding money from the cash register. The man said Gonzalez took off on foot.

A detective with the San Antonio Police Department said in an arrest affidavit that fingerprints were recovered from the scene, later matching them to Gonzalez.

The detective said Gonzalez was also seen by surveillance with his tattoos visible in the footage.

The second robbery occurred Sept. 5 at a Little Caesars at 9527 Poteet Jourdanton Freeway, police said.

Arrest documents stated that Gonzalez displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After getting the money, police said Gonzalez fled.

The robbery was caught on surveillance video and a victim selected Gonzalez from a photo lineup, an arrest affidavit stated.

His bail has been set at $75,000.
