Aberdeen appoints global loans head

Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed a global head of loans in an expansion of its fixed income capability.

Paul Mehta, who reports to global head of high yield Steve Logan as part of his new role, will be tasked with continuing the asset manager's "drive to invest in a much wider, global range of loans across the US, Europe and emerging markets".

Mr Mehta previously served as a senior trader at BNP Paribas, focusing on loans and distressed debt.

Mr Logan said: "Paul’s appointment is part of our strategy to further strengthen our loans capability, where we have been investing for a number years. This also reflects the increasing appetite from clients to invest in loans."
