I actually kind of find it annoying that anet is focusing the story to more open world. For season 2 story chapters 1-4 was a nightmare for me. Because a lot of times, even with the new server system. A lot of the times I had to do the open world events by myself, or with 1-2 other people. And we would be unable to actually accomplish it until 30minutes in when people actually began to trickle in. Then at Frostgorge Sound where you had to help Eir and Brahm kill some Svanir, I was unable to actually finish the event for an entire night because people were Bot farming the entire area. And thus unable to enter the instanced area. I hope anet really fixes these issues.

I'm really hyped up about how Revenant will change up the current WvW meta. I don't see the current core GWEN classes going away anytime soon (they're too good at what they do for large group support and DPS), but Revenant should certainly become a core class as well.

I haven't been keeping up, but does anyone know if this is a paid expansion or if its going to be free? I skimmed through the article again but didn't see it mentioned

It's been a little while since I jumped into Guild Wars 2 - some friends and family were getting through the Warlords content and I just had to participate...again. It wasn't until I learned about Heart of Thorns that I cancelled my WoW subscription to jump back in and I am now frantically trying to get a Ranger to level 80 so I can have a Druid.

The mastery system was probably the most engaging for me as it makes me feel like this expansion is focusing solely on end-game content. I don't know if we'll be getting additional character slots with the new expansion so I left my 5th slot open for the Revenant, just in case we don't! I think the Revenant is a really cool concept and really hearkens back to parts of Guild Wars 1 that I really enjoyed.

I had been waiting for Guild Halls for a really long time and, unfortunately, my guild has all but left nowadays so I've gotta hurry up with that as well! I don't know exactly what a Guild Hall will be like, but I'm excited to finally have one nonetheless.

I'm hoping with all my heart that the success of this expansion having a gliding feature will encourage ArenaNet that having some kind of mounts in Guild Wars 2 isn't such a bad idea. A lot of people think they'd be useless because of teleportation, but I look at a mount as an extension of my character and it feels logical to have them in-game for when we need to run to certain areas. And hey, if you want to look at useless, look no further than mini-pets; those are the most useless things in the games and they've got a ton of them!
