Maxi Priest Guitarist JJ Sansaverino Returns to Branford

Award-winning guitarist returns for his annual holiday tour and food drive to benefit a local food pantry

JJ Sansaverino has not only made a name for himself as the lead guitarist for the reggae band Maxi Priest but he’s also made a name for himself as a solo artist. His most recent appearances at the Hartford Jazz Festival, the Branford Jazz Series, and the Rehobeth Jazz Festival have solidified this dynamic guitarist’s reputation as an outstanding writer, performer, and band leader. JJ Sansaverino returns to HOME Restaurant, 1114 Main Street, Branford, CT on Friday, December 11 as part of Blue Plate Radio’s annual food drive to collect non-perishable food items for a Branford food bank. Returning with JJ is an all-star band:

- Bassist Roberto Vally from LA who tours regularly with Bobby Caldwell and guitarist Paul Brown. Vally also spent time with Spyro Gyra and has his own solo CD

-Vocalist Vince Robinson who spent time with pop singer Stephanie Mills

- Saxman and percussionist Zé Luis Oliveria. The Brazilian is widely known to have introduced the saxophone into his country’s musical culture. He recently spent time in Cuba where he played and recorded with many of the country’s best musicians

- Drummer Camille Gainer Jones has spent time with JT Taylor from Kool and the Gang, has her own CD, and is known as one of NYC’s finest groove and hip-hop drummers

- Etienne Lytle has spent over 20 years playing with JJ Sansaverino but he’s also been seen behind artists like Matt Marshak, Elan Trotman, and a host of others.

Doors open at 7pm and show begins at 8 for JJ Sansaverino

Tickets for this show are $40 in advance or $50 at the door if the show is not sold out. Everyone is asked to bring a bag of non-perishable food items that will be donated to a Branford food pantry
