Tattoos are taking over on Oxygen

Oxygen is getting further involved in the tattoo genre with the new series “Tattoos After Dark,” which follows the antics on the night shift at two popular Los Angeles tattoo parlors, House of Ink and Ink Candy.

The reality show hails from the producers of “Jersey Shore” and will capture both the tattoo artists and the clients looking to get inked in the wee hours of the morning. The network has ordered 12 episodes to premiere in January 2014.

“Tattoos After Dark” joins Oxygen’s tattoo reality competition series “Best Ink” hosted by Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz, which returns for its third season in December. Other ink-themed cable shows include Spike’s “Ink Master” and “Tattoo Nightmares.”
