Rudolph Hostetter Burquist
Rudolph Hostetter Burquist, 93, died on November 5, 2007.
Rudy was born March 22, 1914 in Duluth, Mn., and was a long time resident of Wellington, Tx., Mobile, Al., and Chattanooga. During the last ten years, he lived in Garland, Tx., in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Adelle and Mark Read.
He was a man of many talents – master carpenter, tinsmith, dry cleaner, turkey farmer, engineer and stained glass artist. He was a longtime participant of the Nilly Bipper Craft Show with his stained glass work. His work was also sold at the Tennessee Aquarium and Sweetly Southern in Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie Whisnant Burquist, and a sister, Harriet Sandberg.
He is survived by his daughters, Adelle Burquist Read of Garland, Tx., June Hightower of Chattanooga, Carolyn Lockstead of Denver, N.C., and his brother, John Burquist of Mobile, Al., as well as many caring in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens and Mausoleum, 4621 Shallowford Road, with Reverend Mark Flynn of Christ United Methodist Church officiating.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist – East Chapel, 404 S. Moore Road.
