Three people were injured early Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Washington Township, Warren County, township police report.

The crash was reported at 1:56 a.m. after a northbound silver Nissan Versa sideswiped a utility pole on Changewater Road just past Asbury Anderson Road East, then went off the right side of the street and hit a tree before snapping a utility pole, according to police Lt. John Kaufmann and a witness account.

Casey Guilfoyle, 18, of Lebanon Township, was behind the wheel and Pamela Hurst, 20, and Shelbie Hurst, 21, both of Washington, were her passengers, Kaufmann said.

Guilfoyle and Shelbie Hurst were taken by the Washington Rescue Squad and Hunterdon Medical Center paramedics to Morristown Medical Center. Hampton Rescue Squad took the Pamela Hurst to Hackettstown Medical Center.

A requested helicopter couldn't fly due to weather conditions, Kaufmann confirmed.

The road was closed for five hours after the wreck and Warren County's crash investigation team was called in, Kaufmann said.

Wires were down and JCP&L and Comcast responded, Kaufmann and the witness said.

Township police continue to investigate and no citations have been issued, Kaufmann said.

Police were also assisted by the township fire department and Lebanon Township police, Kaufmann said.
