E-recycling event planned for Christ Memorial Church

Christ Memorial Church is hosting a citywide electronics recycling event 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the church at 595 Graafschap Road. Christ Memorial is partnering with Comprenew, a state-licensed universal waste hauler based in Grand Rapids that breaks down electronic devices to their components and finds markets for the raw materials.

Haworth Inc. is providing a trailer for the event, which is being organized by Creation Care of West Michigan. All electronic devices essentially anything with a cord or battery, including phones, radios, computers, printers to televisions and household appliances — will be accepted. Large appliances, such as a refrigerator or freezer, cannot be accepted.
