In a survey conducted by PickSixPreviews.com, 60 out of 100 uncommitted recruits said Oregon had the best uniforms in college football. Baylor was a distant second with just eight votes, while TCU (six), Maryland (five) and Florida State (five) rounded out the top-five schools.

On the flip side, Alabama and Penn State each got 11 votes for worst uniforms. But those storied teams weren’t alone as powerful programs, such as Michigan, Texas and USC, also got multiple votes.

Maryland, Under Armour’s top showcase school, got just as many votes (five) for worst uniforms as it did for best uniforms.

Seventy-two percent of surveyed players either said it was “very true” or “moderately true” that “uniforms have a great impact on my perception of a team.” Eleven percent answered “very false.” However, only 33 percent said it was either “very true” or “moderately true” that uniforms would impact their college decision — which proves to be true year after year as Alabama sits atop the recruiting class rankings despite its subdued look on the field.
