Forecasters are calling for sunshine and a mild high near 68 degrees in Denver on Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Boulder says there will be light winds in the city before temperatures drop off at night. A high of 64 is forecast for Sunday in Denver.

Snow was reported Saturday morning on some mountain passes in the high country, including Independence and Monarch passes.

Winter weather conditions closed Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park at Rainbow Curve on the east side and Milner Pass on the west side.

“Old Fall River Road is closed as well,” the park said in a Facebook post. “It may be fall at lower elevations but it feels like winter above 10,000 feet! Trail Ridge Road and Old Fall River Road will not reopen today, but have not officially closed for the season.”

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. on Saturday morning for west Jackson and west Grand counties at elevations above 9,000 feet.

The Weather Service says snow accumulations up to 6 inches are possible in those areas, which could make roads icy, slick and snowpacked.

A freeze warning was in effect until 9 a.m. for the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado, where forecasters say temperatures dropped into the mid to upper 20’s on Saturday morning.
