The Lakers are now 4-7 without James, and have not played good basketball despite playing two of the worst teams in the NBA over their last two games. LeBron will miss the next two games vs the Thunder and Rockets, and they don’t have high hopes for the Lakers in those games. They also talk about the young core being inconsistent without James, the lack of scoring and which players have disappointed them the most during this bad streak.
They also discuss why the Lakers made a mistake by not trading some of the young core for Kawhi Leonard in the offseason, as Jordan has started to think Brandon Ingram may not be the player he hoped Ingram could be. They both agree that inconsistency is the most frustrating part of this team. And they discuss if the Lakers can find a true No. 2 to LeBron James.

Pete and I react to a weird Lakers win by mostly pointing out how weird it was. The vibe from Staples Center felt more like a trial than it did a sporting event, and I was interested to see if Pete noticed the same thing.
From there, we turned our focus to a strong Lonzo Ball performance. I’ve noticed that the Lakers are a significantly worse team when his engagement wanes, and look at least decent when he’s forcing the issue. Pete and I discuss what the Lakers could do to get aggressive Lonzo more often.
