Navarre motorcyclist dies in crash

SANTA ROSA COUNTY — A 54-year-old Navarre woman died Monday night following a motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 98 near Coral Street.
Heidi Lynn Thomas was driving west on U.S. Highway 98 on her motorcycle at 6:15 p.m., according to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol. Traffic ahead of Thomas was stopped at the intersection of Coral Street.
The front of the motorcycle crashed with the rear of a Ford Explorer, driven by 29-year-old Robert John Lewis Orth Jr. of Navarre. The Explorer was forced forward, colliding with a Chevrolet Empala, driven by 25-year-old Brittney McCready of Navarre.
Thomas was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
No others were injured.
