Tampa Bay’s top weekend concerts: Chris Stapleton, For King and Country

GO COUNTRY: A CAVALCADE

Did Ken Burns’ epic documentary Country Music get you hankering to hear some live country music? Have we got a lineup for you. Starting with Chris Stapleton on Friday in Tampa, venues across Tampa Bay will spend the next two weeks hosting country shows by artists of all calibers. It’s a virtual Strawberry Festival up in here. Here’s a rundown.

Chris Stapleton: He’s the CMAs’ four-time reigning Male Vocalist of the Year and a five-time Grammy winner, all since 2015. Paired with openers Brothers Osborne, it’ll be a fire-spitting, soul-baring show not to miss. Kendell Marvel also opens. 7 p.m. Friday. MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301 N, Tampa. Marty Stuart: The Americana great was one of the breakout stars of Burns’ documentary thanks to his great stories and appreciation for Nashville lore. CROWN ’EM: FOR KING AND COUNTRY

As two-time Grammy winners who regularly sell out arenas, For King and Country have already achieved worship music superstardom. Then came God Only Knows. Released last year, the aching, empathetic single became their first to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 — and more importantly, it yielded a remixed version featuring Dolly Parton. (Hey, roping in a country veteran worked for Lil Nas X, too.) It’s the sort of single that might make them even bigger deals in their native Australia and here in the United States. TATER AIDED: BUILT TO SPILL

Ask your average American to name a celebrity from Idaho and you might hear a lot of, “Um ... was Napoleon Dynamite a real guy?” Ask an indie rock fan to name a band from Idaho, though, and more than a few will come back with Built to Spill. Doug Martsch’s rotating band of rockers have been putting out albums beloved by bespectacled critics and record-store nerds since the early ’90s, spreading the gospel of the Gem State far and wide. And they’ve weathered a changing industry fairly well, putting out records via major-label Warner Brothers all the way up until 2017. This tour is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Keep It Like a Secret. Idaho pride, baby! Prism and the Pauses open. $25 and up. 7 p.m. Friday. Orpheum, 1915 E Seventh Ave., Ybor City. SINGLE SHOT: TAKING BACK SUNDAY

When Taking Back Sunday headlined this spring’s 97X BBQ in Coachman Park, fans got hosed. Not because the Long Island emo heroes’ performance wasn’t great, though. It’s because when they arrived, they were in the midst of a long celebration of their 20-year anniversary, and in most cities, they were playing two-night stands. The first night, they would play their 2002 album Tell All Your Friends in its entirety, and then, depending on a coin flip, either 2004′s Where You Want to Be or 2006′s Louder Now. The second night, they’d play Tell All Your Friends and the other album. It’s a pretty boss way to celebrate an anniversary. Tampa Bay was all set to get the full treatment this weekend, with a two-night stand planned for St. Petersburg — but a few days ago the second night got canceled. If you had tickets to Monday’s show, they can be refunded at point of purchase, or exchanged for the 7 p.m. Sunday performance. BIG SHOT: GUNNA

The last time Gunna came to town, in May, he headlined the Ritz Ybor. Now he’s headlining the Yuengling Center. Quite a come-up, huh? Technically, it’s not his own tour stop; it’s the annual homecoming concert at the University of South Florida, which skews things a little. But there’s no doubting the Atlanta rapper is moving up in the world, thanks to his hit single Drip Too Hard with Lil Baby and an appearance on Travis Scott’s Yosemite.
