Joanne F. Young

Joanne F. Young, age 82, of Olympia, WA passed away on February 17, 2017 at home peacefully. She was born January 5, 1935 to Alvin and Elizabeth Clair Braun in Minot, North Dakota.

Joanne attended public school in both Minot and Grand Forks, ND. She obtained her GED and attended Aakers Business College where she obtained a certificate in business administration.

Joanne was employed for many years at Walman Optical in Grand Forks, ND and retired as a Certified Nurse Assistant after working for the Cavalier, ND Good Samaritan Nursing Home for over 25 years. She volunteered at the Olympia Senior Center in Olympia, was a member of Olympia Elks Lodge 186, and a proud member of the First United Methodist Church in both Drayton, ND and Olympia, WA. She was married to Dean A. Young and Glenn Herbert Frovarp (deceased). She is survived by her children Arnold (Karen) Frovarp, Grand Forks, ND; Karen (Paul) Axtmann, Hoodsport, WA and Lila (Brian) Kirkeby, Olympia, WA, her special friend Dorothy Frovarp, sister Carol Scheel, and daughter-in-law Becky Frovarp. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Delton Braun and sons Raymond and Dean Frovarp, and great grandson Brian Frovarp. She was very proud of her eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, puzzles, gardening and spending time with family, especially her great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 in South Sound Manor on North Street 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
