David Moyes claims Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford looked nervous against Leicester City

Sunderland beat Leicester City 2-1 at the Stadium of Light yesterday.

Sunderland boss David Moyes has told TeamTalk that he thought Jordan Pickford looked more nervous than usual, during his side’s match against against Leicester City yesterday.

Sunderland won 2-1 against Leicester, and Pickford once again was the hero at the end, as he denied Wes Morgan from close-range.

However, Moyes felt that the young goalkeeper has shown some signs of nerves during the encounter.

He said: “He didn’t have a great deal to do in the rest of the game and I thought today, he was a little bit more jittery than I had seen him.

“But when it came to the moment, he made a top save.”

Pickford has been one of Sunderland’s top performers this season, after being thrown into the first-team by Moyes.

The England youth international has established himself as Sunderland’s number one goalkeeper, after a series of fine displays.

Sunderland picked up their victory against Leicester yesterday thanks to an own goal from Robert Huth and a fine finish from Jermain Defoe.

The Black Cats have now won three of their last four matches to move up to 18th place in the Premier League table, and to within just one point of safety.
