If you live in Omaha, you can only buy fireworks from June 28-July 4. You can only set off fireworks from July 2-July 4 from noon to 11 p.m.
Audi Blann, from La Vista, loves fireworks and said she feels bad for people from Omaha.
"Omaha: They don't get to enjoy (the Fourth of July) as much," said Blann.
La Vista residents can set off fireworks from June 25-July 4.
"Last year, it kind of just went on and on and became a little bit of a nuisance to a lot of people," said Omaha Police Deputy Chief Scott Gray.
The way noise complaints are handled will change too. Omaha police want the public to avoid calling '911' and to call 402-444-5802 instead.
More importantly, Gray said he wants people to be safe when using fireworks.
"We want you to do it safely. Just do it in a safe manner. Only (use) those fireworks that are legal here in Omaha, in the state of Nebraska," said Gray.
Blann agrees. She uses fireworks but said she tries to think about those around her.
"People with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), they're more prone to getting scared easy," Blann said.
