February 8, 1951 — August 2, 2018 FORT EDWARD — Joyce Ann (Albrecht) Ormsby, 67, of East Road, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born on Feb. 8, 1951 in Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Joyce (Andrus) Albrecht.
Joyce was a graduate of Clintondale High School in Michigan. On June 11, 1989, Joyce married the love of her life, Kenneth Ormsby, in Fort Edward on Ken’s family Farm.
For many years, Joyce was an active member of the Living Waters Church of God in Saratoga. Even though her health got in the way of attending, she never lost her faith in God.
Joyce loved to socialize with family and friends every chance she got. She loved animals, collecting angels, playing Bejeweled, playing cards and was a woman who never missed a New York Yankee’s game, win or lose. Joyce was a huge supporter of the Disabled American Veterans and would donate any chance she could. She loved her family most of all and being able to spend time with them was her greatest love.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, E. Mason and E. Louise Ormsby; and her brother-in-law, E. Mason Ormsby Jr.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 29 years, Ken; her children, John Woody Thompson and his wife, Eleanor (Nellie) McLaurin Thompson, of San Antonio, Texas, and Wendie Sue Tatom and her husband, Keith, of Athens, Texas; her grandchildren, Marinell Carolyn Thompson, Robert (Robbie) Ned Thompson, Kassandra Ann Tatom, Kiley Amanda Tatom and Allan Keith Tatom; her brothers, Ernie Albrecht and his wife, Tina, of Clever, Missouri, Dennis Albrecht and his wife, Mary, of Hudson Falls, Tom Albrecht and his wife, Cindy, of Hudson Falls, Dwight Albrecht and his wife, Linda, of Hudson Falls, and Charles Albrecht and his wife, Tammy, of Queensbury; three very special friends, Valerie Ingersoll, Angela Starks and Marybeth Fenton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
