Suspicious Strangers Reported In Ashburn, Sterling: Police

Two suspicious incidents involving strangers and residents were reported over the weekend in both Ashburn and Sterling: LCSO.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Two suspicious incidents involving strangers and residents were reported over the weekend in both Ashburn and Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Such sporadic and seemingly isolated incidents have occurred in the county the past few months, and police have issued warnings for citizens to be on alert.

In the Saturday afternoon Ashburn incident, police went to the 23000 block of Virginia Rose Place for a report of a suspicious female. Police says she approached a house with a boy and asked if anyone at the house spoke Spanish. She had been sitting in a gold 1990s four-door vehicle in front of the house. The female told police they were with a religious group "soliciting conversations with citizens."

In the Sterling incident reported Saturday in the area of Route 7 and North Amelia Street, a resident said that on the previous day the resident's daughter was walking home on a trail when she was approached, hugged and kissed on the neck by an unknown male. The suspect was described as around 50, 5-10 with a medium build and black hair. He was wearing a bright green t-shirt, khaki shorts, brown dress shoes, no socks and a black beanie.
