Boyhood Manchester United fan Otis Khan has been hit with a five-game ban, meaning he will miss Yeovil's FA Cup clash with Jose Mourinho's side.

Yeovil had appealed Khan's sending off which was given for barging the referee after Chesterfield scored a late winner against his team.

A statement from the FA said: 'Otis Khan will be banned for Yeovil Town’s next five matches after he was sent-off for violent conduct during the game against Chesterfield on Saturday.

'Yeovil appealed the red card, however, they failed to convince an Independent Regulatory Commission that the referee made an obvious error in sending the player off.

'Furthermore, the Independent Regulatory Commission increased the player’s standard suspension of three matches by an additional two matches as it considered the appeal had no prospect of success. The decision cannot be appealed.'

The 22-year-old had claimed the contact was accidental because he tripped as he ran towards referee Kevin Johnson to protest.
