Mariah Carey has moved to the performing rights organization ASCAP, which will now license public performances of the singer’s catalog of hits, including blockbuster singles “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” “One Sweet Day” featuring Boyz II Men, “Vision of Love” and “We Belong Together.”
“ASCAP’s dedication to songwriters and our craft is one of the many reasons I was drawn to this community,” said Carey in a statement released Wednesday (Feb. 11). “I am so excited to be a part of ASCAP and look forward to our partnership.”
Carey joins ASCAP from SESAC, the performing rights organization she signed with in 2014. Over the course of her career, she has racked up a total of 19 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, more than any other solo artist, and won five Grammys. A co-writer on the large majority of her hits, she will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June.

Notably, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the first time in December, 25 years after its original release.
