ATV Rider Dies After Ignoring Road Closed Sign: Police
Authorities say a 21-year-old ATV rider ignored a Road Closed sign in the Foxconn construction zone, leading to the crash that killed him.
MOUNT PLEASANT, WI -- Police in Mount Pleasant say that alcohol and high speeds were both factors that led to the death of a 21-year-old Mount Pleasant man in an ATV accident early Friday morning. A second 21-year-old Mount Pleasant man was seriously injured in the crash, police said.
Authorities say they responded to the crash, which happened just before 2 a.m. in the 12500 block of Braun Road, which is located within the Foxconn construction zone - a multi-acre site designated for the construction of a $10 billion electronics plant.
When officers investigated the fatal crash, they learned that the ATV driver ignored the Road Closed signs on Braun Road and continued driving west, only to vault into a rocky ravine where there is no roadway.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is reminding the Public to heed Road Closed signs in the area in the interest of public safety.
