Mississippi Seafood Cook Off

What would the Mississippi Gulf Coast be without seafood? Thankfully, we don’t have to find out, but we do need to know who the undisputed Seafood King is.
That’s what the Mississippi Seafood Cook Off is all about. For eight years, top chefs from across the state have met head to head in the kitchen with one coming out on top as the best seafood chef in the state.
Last year’s winner went on to win the national crown at the Great American Seafood Cook Off in New Orleans, highlighting just how tough the competition really is when it comes to seafood in our state. 2017 Seafood Cook Off Judge Jeff Clark said, “I’m just honored to be here, but I think all of us our growing up or living in this food culture now where we watch Food Network all the time. So, you know, I get to be like one of the judges on Chopped or something like that and I’m very excited about it. Plus, you know, local seafood, I mean there’s guys I know here from Tupelo and Starkville and all over so it should be a great thing.”
Each contestant has 50 minutes to prepare their best seafood dishes and hopefully take home that crown.
