Dallas, TX (AP) -  A bronze statue of Rosa Parks is the latest addition to a plaza in Dallas, Texas named in her honor.

The life-sized tribute shows Parks sitting on a bus bench.

Parks is known for helping to integrate public transportation during the Civil Rights Era.

The public space will provide passenger shelters and bus bays to serve hundreds of Dallas Public Transit users.

It has been almost 54 years since Parks' actions set off the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
