Did Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky break up? That was the question put forth by the likes of Barstool Sports over the weekend when Gretzky removed any trace of DJ from her Instagram account. I mean, gone.
There aren't a whole lot of reasons for someone to remove any trace of their significant other and father of their two children from their Instagram account boasting 731,000 followers. But that's what Paulina Gretzky did, all the while leaving up the usual pictures of herself, of herself and her kids, of herself and Tiger Woods.
So, why did she do it? Was she indicating she had broken up with Dustin Johnson? Had DJ done something to upset her to the point that she didn't want him to have any kind of place in her Instagram presence?
There's been plenty of speculation, particularly from the British tabloid The Sun, suggesting a California socialite had been engaged in some kind of affair with Dustin Johnson. The woman, 39-year-old Yassie Safai, felt compelled to go to Instagram herself and offer a response to The Sun's allegations.
"I am not in a relationship with Dustin Johnson. Nor have we had any prior relationship. I met Dustin Johnson at Sherwood country club (sic). I have run into him at Sherwood maybe 4 times since then and yes briefly spoke with him, like I'm sure any avid golfer and member would. I am sure he is a great person but, we do not have a close friendship. I have not met Paulina Gretzky and do not know the Gretzky family, but again, I am sure they are great people.
"I don't believe that 3 retweets on my Twitter means that I am expressing my adoration for someone. Yes, I have retweeted 3 Dustin Johnson tweets.
"I have no insight into the rumors around Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky's relationship. I wish them nothing but the best."
On Tuesday night, Dustin Johnson felt the need to go to Twitter to respond to the rumors and innuendo.
Every relationship goes through its ups and downs, but most importantly, we love each other very much and are committed to being a family. Thank you for your love and support.

The 34-year-old Johnson said, "Every relationship goes through its ups and downs, but most importantly, we love each other very much and are committed to being a family."
While Johnson's tweet acknowledges the rumors and implications of being wiped from Paulina's Instagram page, he doesn't share -- and, by the way, doesn't have to share -- where their relationship is. The couple has two children -- Tatum and River -- together, and ultimately, they're the most important part of their time together.
