Wisconsin Herd Completes Trade with Austin Spurs

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, has traded Travis Trice to the Austin Spurs in exchange for Nick Johnson and the returning player rights to Olivier Hanlan. The Herd also receive Austin's own second-round pick in the 2019 NBA G League Draft. This trade is subject to Travis Trice and Nick Johnson passing physicals.

In 20 games (17 starts) with the Austin Spurs this season, Johnson averaged 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 35.9 minutes per game. In his four NBA G League seasons, he holds career averages of 13.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists, while shooting 38.6 percent from the field, earning 2018 NBA G League Finals MVP. The Arizona native played in 108 games (101 starts) with the University of Arizona over three seasons (2011-14) and held career averages of 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, earning 2014 Pac-12 Player of the Year.

Hanlan currently plays with Telekom Baskets Bonn (Germany), averaging 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 16.7 minutes per game. The 6-foot-4 guard appeared in 44 games (30 starts) with the Austin Spurs last season and averaged 14.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.

Trice appeared in 19 games (18 starts) with the Herd this season and averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from 3-point range. In November, Trice was named to the USA World Cup Qualifying Team. In two games with Team USA he averaged 16.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three.

The Herd roster now stands at 12 players.
