Anger over EastEnders drugs scene
Viewers have complained to the BBC about cocaine abuse shown on EastEnders last night.
Millions saw Janine Butcher, played by Charlie Brooks, 20, about to snort cocaine and paying a drug dealer with sex.
The scenes will have upset parents who tuned in with their children for the soap, broadcast an hour before the 9pm watershed.
A BBC spokesman admitted it had received complaints, adding: "But EastEnders has alw ays tackled difficult issues like drug-taking in a responsible way."
