Sally Wilford, 30, a marketing manager in asset management, and Ross Gillanders, 30, operations manager at SP&Co, were married on July 30, 2016, at St Peter & St Paul church, Great Bowden, Leicestershire

Sally spotted Ross — tall, tanned and looking like Tim Henman — in the sixth-form common room when they were both 17-year-olds. Ross was in the school year above. “He did stand out,” Sally recalls.

They got to know each other on a school skiing trip to Austria. Sally had never skied before; Ross was more experienced. “I was so nervous around him,” she says. “I remember stacking it so spectacularly on my skis every time I saw him.” On returning home, Sally excitedly broke the news to her parents
