Tecumseh, Milan play to scoreless tie

The Tecumseh High School girls soccer team opened its season Monday with a scoreless tie against Milan at Indian Stadium.

The Indians limited Milan to 10 shots in the non-conference match.

Tecumseh goalkeeper Sarah Tritt finished with 10 saves. Elizabeth Montalvo and Devon Giovannone anchored the defense, while Katie Waterbury, Ashley O’Leary and Rikkell Bock also had strong performances.

BASEBALL

Manchester 13, Madison 3: At Madison Twp., the Trojans suffered a non-conference loss Monday in the season opener for both teams.

Hunter Teunion-Smith had two hits and an RBI for Madison. Zach Evans and Braxton Garza each had a single and an RBI.

SOFTBALL

Manchester 15, Madison 0: At Madison Twp., the Trojans opened with a four-inning loss in Monday’s non-conference game.

Manchester pitcher Katie McClure threw a no-hitter, allowing walks to Hanna Johnston and Kelsey Hudson.

Johnston took the loss in the circle for the Trojans. Payton Galvan, Myriah Hamilton and Maddy Burciaga played well defensively.
