EastEnders star Danny-Boy Hatchard launches singing career as Frank Sinatra crooner – with Paul Coker actor Jonny Labey as his support act
The pair have both finished on the BBC soap - with Danny-Boy's character Lee Carter having his final scenes within weeks
EASTENDERS star Danny-Boy Hatchard has traded Walford for walking the boards and has ventured into music as a Frank Sinatra crooner.
The 25-year-old, who is currently playing troubled Lee Carter on the BBC1 soap, took to the stage to perform at London's Brasserie Zedel on Friday evening, and will be doing a second show tonight.
The star looked dapper in a waistcoat and tie as he performed a host of songs from the legendary singer Frank Sinatra - belting out his classic hits including Fly Me To The Moon, New York New York and My Way.
To treat fans even further, Jonny Labey - who played Paul Coker on the show - was announced as his special guest.
Fans who came out to support the singer later flocked to Twitter to praise his star turn as a crooner rather than an actor.
One wrote: "Congrats again on the show last night fella, really enjoyed, n yes u CAN sing! Lookin forward 2 the next 1. enjoy tonight's gig @danboy"
Another said: "Well done last night @danboy had a great time, wonderful voice you have, hope to see you again soon. #goseehim"
And a third also praised him and wrote: "Not only can @danboy sing but he also knows how to entertain the audience! Beautiful voice, fabulous guests, a fantastic evening."
Danny made sure to respond to all the messages and send his thanks.
After these performances, Danny-Boy will be performing at My Fair Ladies from January 15 to 18.
LATEST FROM TV AND SHOWBIZ
Both Jonny and Danny Boy have now left the long-running Albert Square drama, with Paul Coker being unexpectedly killed off in a homophobic attack last year.
Paul was out with his boyfriend Ben Mitchell when they were prayed upon by attackers, and it was assumed that it was Ben that had died after he disappeared immediately after.
However, when dad Phil Mitchell went to identify the body, it was discovered that Paul was the real victim.
Meanwhile, Danny-Boy, who is still currently on screen as the troubled and depressed Lee Carter, has officially filmed his final scenes and will be leaving the soap within weeks.
Lee has taken centre stage in a number of big plot lines recently - including a marriage, a break-in and a suicide plan - as his mental health begins to deteriorate.
On New Year's Eve, he was talked down by a parking attendant from the roof of a multi-storey car park as he vowed to end his life.
Convincing him that suicide wasn’t the answer, the harrowing scenes saw Lee finally reach back and grab her hand before breaking down in her arms.
After trying to sort his life out for 2017, he revealed his troubles to his dad Mick Carter.
