Celebration of Music is a talent search showcasing the best young musical talent in the country. Singers, musicians, bands and dancers between the ages of 4 and 25 are all encouraged to enter their local competitions by submitting an audition tape.

The Celebration of Music concept was inspired by singer and musician Ethan Bortnick and his desire to give young musicians the same opportunities PBS afforded him.

This program shares music and arts with the local community and there is no fee to enter or participate. ALL All musical acts/genres (bands, soloists, duets, choirs, instrumentalists, a cappella, and even dancers) are invited to audition for the show.

The final show will star Ethan Bortnick, who is recognized by the Guinness World Records as “The World’s Youngest Solo Musician to Headline His Own Concert Tour.” Ethan, who is now 18, had his own PBS special at age 9. He will be advising and judging the talent, asking questions and sharing his experiences. Those picked to go through to the local show will be given an online presence on the website. All chosen contestants will perform at the local live concert at a venue in Bethlehem on Oct. 27.

All contestants will get to perform their piece at the concert and a winner will be chosen by an audience vote. (This part is not televised; only the finale in Los Angeles.) The winner will be announced at the end of the show and will get to perform a winning solo. They will be featured on “Celebration of Music,” which will be taped and shown on PBS. The winner will also get to record a single for iTunes (or record a music video for YouTube with Ethan if they are a dancer).

Auditions will close at the end of June or when there are enough contestants. Performance footage can be submitted at this link: https://celebrationofmusic.com/audition Make sure to share a URL or a video clip of you performing. There is no limit on the number of links that can be shared.
