SOUTH GLENS FALLS — Leonard G. "Lenny" Moss, 93, a lifelong resident of Main Street, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on Nov. 14, 1917, at the family home in South Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Leonard J. and Myrtle S. (Childs) Moss.
Following graduation from South Glens Falls School, Class of 1937, he was called to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1941 to 1945, where he fought in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. Lenny was an active member of the South Glens Falls American Legion Mohican Post No. 553.
On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Ethel L. Waterman. They recently celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary.
Lenny was one of the first police officers for the village of South Glens Falls. He, along with his wife, owned and operated Moss's Grocery Store in South Glens Falls from 1946 to 1965. Lenny drove a school bus for South Glens Falls School District for more than 20 years. He was fondly remembered and recognized by many of the students who rode his bus.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Wanda M. Bulger.
Survivors besides his wife include his daughters, JoAnn Kolar and her husband, Brien, of Hudson Falls and Christine Anderson and her husband, James, of South Glens Falls; his cherished grandchildren: Kyle Kolar and Amber Alden of South Glens Falls, Shea Kolar of Hudson Falls, James Anderson and Crystal of Towson, Md., Zachary Anderson and Crystal of South Glens Falls, Kurt Anderson and Danielle Hewitt of Baltimore, Md.; the new "lights of his life" his great-grandchildren, Destiny and Evelyn of South Glens Falls and Alexis of Towson, Maryland. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Gerald Bulger of Greenwich; his sister-in-law, Romona Clements of South Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in the spring in Southside Cemetery, town of Moreau.
