Body Found In Cumberland ID'd As Missing Hendersonville Woman

Kelly Stone's daughter reported her missing in June 2016. Police say her body was in a car pulled from the river at Neely's Bend Thursday.

MADISON, TN — The body of a woman found inside a car sunk in the Cumberland River at Neely's Bend has been identified as a Hendersonville woman missing for 16 months.

Kelly Stone was reported missing in June 2016 after leaving her daughter's home in Orlinda. There had been few clues to her whereabouts in the ensuing year-plus.

Nashville Fire Department personnel found the car during diving training Thursday near Peeler Park.

Foul play is not suspected in Stone's disappearance and death.
