SJP waives exit charge and pays out after causing 'upset' to former client

£200 in compensation

St James's Place (SJP) has been asked to pay a former client £200 in redress after "trouble and upset" the advice firm caused her when she decided to pull her investments from the organisation.

SJP allocated a new partner to look after Ms H's investments without giving her any notice. Ms H was unhappy with this, and decided to move her investments away from the business. SJP then took "some time" to send cost information to her new adviser. SJP said it refunded some of its fees in response to Ms H's concerns about the change in partner. It also waived its early withdrawal fees so she could move her investments without charge.
