Madhya Pradesh: Congress Leader Digvijay Singh Says Sanghi Ideology Responsible For Propagating Terrorism

Bhopal, June 16:  General Secretary of Congress Digvijay Singh told the media that he has always used the term “sanghi terrorism” and not “Hindu terrorism”. He added that terror activities cannot be defined on the basis of a religion. Digvijay Singh is currently holding Ekta Yatra in Madhya Pradesh.

“You have wrong information that Digvijaya Singh used the term ‘Hindu terrorism’. I have always used the term ‘Sanghi terrorism’, ” NDTV quoted Mr Singh as telling media. Mr Singh also said that no religion can be a supporter of terrorism.

Former Chief Minister also noted that bomb blasts, be it Malegaon blast, Mecca Masjid blast- were caused by people influenced by Sangh ideology. He accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of propagating hatred and violence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that the use of the word “sanghi” may hurt the sentiments of the ones involved with the outfit. BJP MP Sanjay Pathak told news agency ANI, “Whatever be one’s religion if they abide by it, they will never do anything wrong. No religion preaches extremism. When people bring extremism and project their religion wrongly, it causes confusion, leading Hindus, every Indian citizen, to go astray.” Mr Pathak further said that people might hold different views, but for him, everybody in India is a Hindu, no matter what their religion or caste is.
