Golden Globes host Seth Meyers was good, but Tina Fey & Amy Poehler were better [POLL RESULTS]

Seth Meyers hosted the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday for the first time and was thrown right into the lion’s den in dealing with the Hollywood sexual scandals that took down Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and more. Our writer Tony Ruiz noted that Meyers gave a “knockout performance” in dealing with with the controversy, but what did YOU think? We ran a poll asking Golden Globes viewers to name their favorite host from recent memory, and the “Late Night” star came in with 26% of the vote. Those numbers are good enough for second place, just behind our readers’ favorite emcees of all time: Tina Fey & Amy Poehler at 41%.

Fey & Poehler acted as ringleaders three years in a row (2013-2015) before stepping down at the height of their game. They were perhaps best known for brilliantly playing off of each other and taking barbs at some of the powerful people in the crowd, including George Clooney. Like Meyers, Fey and Poehler came from “Saturday Night Live,” which gave them years of experience in front of a live audience.

Ricky Gervais came in third place in our poll at 22%. Gervais took no prisoners during his four years at bat (2010-12, 2016), going for the jugular as much as he could. His repeated attacks against Mel Gibson got uncomfortable after a while, but Gibson proved to have a good sense of humor when he popped up alongside Gervais at the 2016 ceremony.

Another former “SNL” vet — Jimmy Fallon — only earned 11% support from fans. Fallon started the show with a star-studded tribute to “La La Land” that featured many of that year’s nominees. He then came out on stage to a teleprompter that malfunctioned, but didn’t let that get to him as he moved the show along.
