Oregon Ducks football coach Mario Cristobal joined me on the Bald Faced Truth radio show (12-3p weekdays on Portland's 102.9-FM and Eugene's 95.7-FM) on Wednesday, where he revealed how he celebrates landing a big commitment in recruiting, and what Nick Saban told him about recruiting lineman.

On recruiting bigger players at Oregon:

Said Cristobal: "I had a really good mentor at that last place I was at. (Alabama coach Nick Saban) always used to tell me, 'You know why they have weight divisions in boxing? So the big guy doesn't annihilate the little guy. Bring me big guys.'"

On how he celebrates a commitment:

"You really don't celebrate. You're excited that it's affirmation that you're in the lead for a particular process... but until that fax comes in or that photo on the cellphone, nothing is worth celebrating... (when the fax comes in) there's a relief."

On walking into a stadium on game day:

"It's life. It's everything, brother. You can't put it in words. The ultimate rush. The biggest stage... when you walk in, especially on the road, for whatever reason, you have an opportunity to go into an opponent's stadium ... and change the way people think."

On hearing an AP voter ranked the Ducks No. 9:

"That stuff to me has no bearing. It can't. We never go too much on the side of praise and acknowledgement."
